The new musical landscape of Cardiff
The new Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama opened in Cardiff today. The magnificent new building wraps around the existing college and is
sure to become an icon for the city.
The £22.5m investment into the design and building of new facilities in Cathays Park provides the RWCMD with state of the art facilities, a new theatre and purpose-built concert hall which will alter the cultural scene in the city. Standing proud between North Road and the east side canal in Bute Park, the RWCMD’s unique location will make it an ideal post for the programme of events it has on offer starting this June.
Momentum sourced and supplied the contemporary furniture for the public areas of the new build, identifying product solutions that will enhance the aesthetic of the build as well as provide the quality required for the streams of people sure to be visiting this amazing new building.
We have worked closely with the RWCMD over the last two years whilst the college was going through the many changes, redesigning and providing furniture for refurbished areas of the college including the student union bar, refectory and main offices.
