Trevithick Library wins SCONUL Award

The Trevithick Library was awarded the SCONUL 2010 prize for Best Small Library Design

The Trevithick Library underwent a dramatic refurbishment in 2008.  Key elements of the new design included a research lounge, open study spaces, group study rooms and a wireless “computer bar”.

Momentum sourced and installed the entire furniture package, working with Design Research Unit at the Welsh School of Architecture.  This included workspace solutions, task lighting, meeting room and public area furniture.

The overall effect is stunning.  The furniture works to enhance the contemporary and co-ordinated style of the building and its function.  The bench desk system with frosted glass and individual task lighting gives an open plan aesthetic but still creates individual space – perfect for the library and its visitors.
