The fantastic new City Campus of the University of Wales Newport which was completed in December 2010 has won a RIBA award.
Designed by BDP architects the building is a superb example of modern architecture. Momentum was appointed to select and supply the loose furniture package and is really excited to have provided a designed, contemporary and quality scheme to this wonderful building.
The result is impressive both internally and externally and the building has won the 2011 Education Project of the Year from Mix Interiors and a prestigious award from RIBA.

Our 10th birthday party was a big success, thanks to everybody who came it was wonderful to see so many friends customers and collaborators! It was the perfect day to convert the front of the building into a beer garden and with a little help from FATBOY it looked spectacular. Great evening, great company – here’s to another 10 years!!
The new Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama opened in Cardiff today. The magnificent new building wraps around the existing college and is
sure to become an icon for the city.
The £22.5m investment into the design and building of new facilities in Cathays Park provides the RWCMD with state of the art facilities, a new theatre and purpose-built concert hall which will alter the cultural scene in the city. Standing proud between North Road and the east side canal in Bute Park, the RWCMD’s unique location will make it an ideal post for the programme of events it has on offer starting this June.

To add to the accolades it was announced today that the School as achieved a RIBA award which is great news for the architects Austin-Smith Lord.
The Centre for Alternative Technology has been awarded a prestigious RIBA architectural award for its new Wales Institute for Sustainable Education WISE Building), which was completed in 2010.
The judges said: “The word ’sustainability’ is frequently used; this project not only lives up to the Centre’s mission but does so with a quiet confidence. Many such buildings flaunt their green credentials; this building doesn’t and is a delight as a result.”
